This box is a drive by. Which ever way you travel on Route 44 to get to this box you will see, What's New In Cole brook.
In 2015 Colebrook built 2 large wind turbines on Flagg Hill Rd. to produce cleaner energy. They will be building 2 more on Rock Hall Rd. in the near future.
Directions:
From Route 44 east from Norfolk toward Winsted. You will pass Rock Hall Rd. on your left and then Flagg hill Rd. on right. Just after Flagg Hill Rd. Follow guard rail to end and turn into pull off on right. Drive to end of dirt road.
From Route 44 west from Winsted to Norfolk. After you pass the Zimmerman Tree Service, look on the right for a large YELLOW postal box marked with 52. After that on Left , past the guard rails is pull off that you want to turn into. (If you pass Flagg Hill RD., you have gone to far.)
At the end of pull off , go behind the 2 sister tree on the right. Follow the stone wall down to the smooth grey birch tree. The box is in the top of the wall behind some tree bark near the birch tree.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
