Mary's letterbox LbNA #6867
From Colchester take Norwich Avenue toward Norwich. Continue on to the Lebanon town line. From the town line, drive 1.4 miles to Camp Mooween Road on your right. Take Camp Mooween Road and follow it until it forks. Take the left fork to stay on Camp Mooween Rd. Park in the small lot on your left at the edge of Red Cedar Lake. Pass through the yellow barrier into Camp Mooween Park. Walk by the house on Cedar Point and follow the road past the dam on your right. As you enter the wooded area, go up the hill to stay on the main trail, which is the green trail. The lake will be on the right. The trail is heading south at this point. You will pass an old paved area on the left with a multi-trunked tree growing in its center. Stay on the main trail (green blazes). At the next junction, bear left to stay on the main trail, which bends left into an "S" rather than following the path that leads downhill toward the lake. You will pass a unique tree close to the trail on your left that has a hollow trunk with a twisted piece of wood in the hollow. Continue on, looking carefully for an old foundation with a stone structure in its middle. This foundation will be on the left side of the trail. Enter the foundation and go to the east side of the central stone structure. Mary's letterbox will be on this side about 5 feet up from the ground.
If you are coming from Norwich get off Route 2 at Exit 30 and turn right. At the stop sign turn left onto state highway 616. Continue about 1.4 miles to Camp Mooween Road which will be a left turn. Then, follow the above directions.
