The Cumberland Land Trust Letterbox Series: Box #4 LbNA #67721
Otis Smith Farm
*15 minute walk to box but trail continues; not stroller friendly
1. Begin walking on the path. Trees are blazed white to let you know you are going the right way. Take the trail on the left that goes through a wall and travel clockwise.
2. You will see a rocky ledge to your right as you walk up and come to a T. The path right appears to be unblazed, but it's actually white if venture that aways. You'll want to turn left here (clearly white).
3. After turning, you will eventually start going downhill and then pass through some downed trees.
4. Next, pass through an area of ferns along both sides of the path.
5. As you begin to walk uphill again, look upwards on your left to a “Y” shaped tree with a poison ivy vine climbing it. To the right of this "Y" is an erratic. Don't go too far up the hill just yet.
6. At this point look for a large rock on the left edge of the trail (across from some birches). You only need to take two steps off the trail to find the box.
7. Under the overhang point of this rock is what you seek. There's an oddly curved rock trapdoor concealing the box.
8. Be sure the place the box back where you found it.
- The entrance has a kiosk. Park on the side of Scott Road.
