I Kissed a Fish and I Liked it
The taste was not cherry chap stick
I hope my doggie don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right

I always wanted to be an angler. So, I went to a beginners' fishing clinic to get my feet wet and cast a line or two. To say the least, I took the bait: hook, line and sinker. Before too long, my rod wiggled excitedly with my first trophy, a 9" Yellow Perch. What a sight to behold: a long, slim, slimy, scaly, dripping beauty! Something a city girl, like me, could only dreamed about. The Ranger claimed that kissing our first catch would bring a lifetime Good Luck. So there I was, facing my dilemma: Fish or Cut Bait? Reluctantly, I puckered up. SWAK!!! Oh, the jealousy I saw in the others' anxious eyes! The Luck kept worming its way onto my line the rest of that day. Six more worm gulping keepers took the bait. Perhaps kissing a fish isn't as bad as one would think. Just ask Charlie Moore, the "Mad Fisherman", he does it all the time! By the looks of it, I think he likes it, too!
Make your way to Charlton's newest conservation area. Park across from the barn on the mowed grass. Walk down to the water's edge and spot the little bridge on your left. Take a second to watch the neat waterfall. Continue up the mowed path passing the Veggie garden and the overgrown vineyard. Turn left at last tall pole. Walk 50 paces and look for a stone wall. What you're Fishing for lays waiting under a rock at the bottom of the wall just right of the low spot. Don't forget your rod and your lunch. You might want to spend the day!
