There are several ways to get to this letterbox. The directions below follow Pitcher Brook trail, which is a moderately strenuous hike and will take several hours.
For a quicker hike take the Laurel Lane trail, this trail can be found behind the Farmhouse.
1. Read the disclaimer and liability waiver from the web site. This is always at your own risk.
2. Go to Noble View Outdoor Center in Russell, Ma (http://nobleviewoutdoorcenter.org/index.html).
3. Park in the parking lot. There is a kiosk; maps are available near the Farmhouse or online.
4. Go to the Pitcher Brook trailhead from the parking area (southwest corner).
5. Follow Pitcher Brook trail, passing intersections (14) Ann's trail, (17) Border Trial and Landmarks (L) Ice Pond.
6. Bear left onto Laurel Lane trail, to (K) Pendleton-Snow Cellar Hole (about 2 miles).
7. Climb into the cellar hole and walk to the room on the right.
8. Walk to far end of the room and look toward the trail, then look down and to the right.
9. The wall is crumbling and shaped like a “V”, look on the right corner behind a rock for the “Busy Bee” letterbox!
10. Please repack and hide everything carefully and neatly. Return the way you came or follow the Laurel Lane Trail north to the Farmhouse.
12. If you take Laurel Lane, you will pass Landmark (I) Ashley Cellar Hole) on your left.
Use the web site to contact us if maintenance is needed, or if you enjoyed this letterbox.
Thanks and Enjoy!
