Not all creatures are perfect, including me! I carved this little woodpecker for a woodland series and after I finished, I decided I didn't like the way it came out. Rather than throwing it away, I had the opportunity to plant a box in Beebe Preserve so I decided to free my woodpecker to a good home in Lyme. This is a bonus to another box that was planted there by "a beautiful insect of the order Lepidoptera".
Thank you for the wonderful "Day-after" Turkey Day "walk off" with your family. I feel honored to have been a part of it all. A very special thanks to Jared for making us all laugh as he swung on the vines and also finding the best spot for planting and putting my woodpecker so SAFE-ly into his new home.
