Caleb's Crossing is a bestselling book written by Geraldine Brooks about Bethia, a curious young woman growing up in Martha's vineyard in the 1660s and the bond she forms with Caleb, the young son of a Wampanoag chief. Inspired by a true story, it brilliantly captures the triumphs and turmoil of two brave, openhearted spirits who risk everything in a search for knowledge at a time of superstition and ignorance. This box can be found at the Cornelia Carey Sanctuary (The Knob), not too far from the home of the characters.

Directions:
Go south on Woods Hole Road to Quissett Harbor Road, turn right and go to The Knob parking on the right.

Clues:
Walk on path along harbor to trail sign, then go left up steps and continue about 25 yards to the overlook. Go right on a faint path 13 steps to a large tree with big branch low on the left side. Go under the branch and continue 10 steps to a multi-trunk bush. The letterbox is on back side under a rock, sticks and leaves.
