Clues: Easy
Terrain: Moderate; all uphill coming back
Distance: 1 mile roundtrip
THIS BOX WAS REPLACED ON OCTOBER 8, 2006
Same starting point as Quechee Gorge Letterbox.
Clues: This time when faced with the two choices you want to go left! This will immediately take you under the road and bridge. This trail goes downhill most of the way. You will pass a bench on your left then a second one on the right. You will a Danger sign on the corner of the fence and the path will level off here. You will gown down a slight hill and the fence will end. Keep going a short distance to the end of the path. Enjoy the area.
Go back up the trail to where the fence begins and look to your right. You will see a huge dead tree, mostly on the ground. Go up the hill to the right and around the back of the tree, follow the trunk to the end and stand between the two trees. Take a reading of 109* and go approx. 46 feet to a stup about 2 feet high behind some downed trees. The box is inside the stump!
Retrace you steps back up the hill, remember there are 2 benches, use them if you need to rest.
