The bridges of Steven's Glen LbNA #5688
Stevens Glen is a historic property now maintained by the BNRC (Berkshire Natural Resources Council). It is a beautiful walk with some slightly challenging climbs but well worth it! Trailhead parking is on Lenox Road in West Stockbridge just west of Deer Hill Road.
Go down the stairs and pass the kiosk, then turn right at the T. Continue past the utility right of way through the berry patch (in season). Descend the stairs to a green bridge, but turn right before the bridge and continue down to yet another bridge. Look right here for a first glimpse of the glen.
After crossing this bridge continue along and climb to the top of the knoll following blue blazes. Go up some rock steps past a log bench on your right. After the next bench you will see the metal steps down to the overlook of the falls. Notice the nice plaque when descending.
After you have taken in the view and experience, climb the metal stairs, and head down the way you came. Stop at the first bridge you reach. Walk down to the waters edge on the right side of the bridge. Your letterbox (hybrid geocache?) is tucked up under the bridge.
Continue up until you get back to the T intersection and turn right to head back to the kiosk and your car.
