BOX RETIRED
Elderberries are used for making jellies and wine. I can remember picking them by the basketful when I was a kid.Gram used to make jelly. ( no wine) I liked the wine now that I am older.( can't find people who make it now)
Go down W.5th Ave to L St. Cross L and down over the hill.
Parking anywhere, go to the point of the park closest to the houses near the curve. See the large bush?? Go behind it,being careful not to slide down the slope and look in the bush under the leaves and sticks.Here you will find your ripe elderberries in the park.
Park should be green(celebrating the green areas of Anchorage and berries should be purple)
Please be careful and discreet as this is a VERY POPULAR place. I had a hard time planting it.
(smoking came in handy as I sat and had one while planting this box..nobody paid me a mind
)
Nana C and the seedlings have taken over my boxes.
