This letterbox is located in a preserve on West Island in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. A bit buggy (wear bug spray) and watch out for poison ivy!
From Route 6, take Sconticut Neck Road (Route 240) south about 4 miles.
Make a left onto Goulart Memorial Drive (there will be a sign to West Island). This is a causeway which will lead to West Island. Follow it to the island.
Go all the way to the end and make a left onto Fir Street.
On your right will be and entrance to the preserve. Enter here.
Walk down the main path, past the first bend, until you see a large tree stump (with a big hole in it) on your right.
Continue walking another 65 paces.
On your right will be a side path off the main path. Enter the side path and walk a short way until you see a fork in the path.
Go left at the fork and walk 50 paces.
There will be a large rock on your right.
Walk another 10 paces and there will be a tree on your right. The letterbox is hidden behind the tree.
