*** Part of my Dr. Seuss Series ***
Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 200 yards RT)
Status: alive
"One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" was written by Dr. Seuss in 1960, and is a book filled with tongue twisting rhymes, starting out with the title. This red fish can be found just outside of Potter's Creek Park on Canyon Lake, but no pole is required!
Directions:
From I35 near New Braunfels, take FM 306 West 23 miles, through Canyon City, to Potter's Creek Road. Go left (south) 3 miles to an intersection just before the park entrance. Turn right and then left, following the brown signs to the boat ramp until you get to a stop sign. Instead of going right to the ramp, turn left and park near the restrooms.
Clues:
Walk back down the road a few yards to where it bends left toward the ramp and turn right onto an old dirt road. Go about 50 yards to a large gravel pile on the right and continue another 25 yards to 2 posts on the left marking where the old road bends that way. Follow the road from the posts for 60 steps to a 4 foot skinny stump on the right in front of several cedar trees. Walk 4 steps behind the stump to an oak tree with a Y fork 3 feet high. The microbox is in a knothole of the left branch under a rock. Please replace as described.
