Find Mt. Tom State Park on route 202 in Litchfield (fee during the summer).
After finding the Sitting Monkey Letterbox today, we continued up to the tower. It's deserving of a castle.
There are two yellow trails that take you to the tower. Take whichever one you like to the top. After catching your breath, climb to the top of the tower (stairs are beginning to rot but park people assure me that new ones are coming) look out to the south and spot a tree surrounded by mossy rocks. The castle you want is nestled between two of the rocks (slanting towards each other) to the left of the tree.
If people are around, wait them out or pretend to be doing something non-letterbox related. You're not far from the tower here.
