This series is a tribute to the wonderful summers had by our family on Crystal Lake in Gilmanton, NH. We come here to enjoy the lake and quiet atmosphere. In the fall we also visit another NH site which we refer to as "Old" Hampshire because we have gone there for many years longer; thus this is our "New" Hampshire series.

Clues: #1 "The Cottage" Find Crystal Lake Road off Rte 140 in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH. Follow Crystal Lake Road past the dam until you see the baseball field and pavillion on your right. Turn right onto Boatramp Road and immediately right into the fenced parking area for the ball park. Park and walk over to the small bridge that leads up to the field, but DON'T go through the fence. Stop at the fence and walk to your left to the large rock between the 3rd and 4th large trees. Find the first box "The Cottage" under the north east corner of the rock. Please be discrete and rehide well as this is a public place.
#2 "Man Hunt" Go back to Crystal Lake Road, turn right and drive along the lake for a ways to the cemetery (difficult to see from the road) on the hill on your left just after the large red house. Go through the white gate to the top on the hill and meet the Lugee family from the 1800's. Look to the back of the cemetery to a large twin sister tree. Walk to the tree then take 2 steps to your right. Here in the wall behind some loose rocks is #2 box. Manhunt is a fun game the kids play at night, similar to hide and seek, only everyone dresses in camoflage or black. Pay close attention...and be sure to rehide well as there are neighbors in close poximity.
