Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 10 yards (depending on parking)
****** Due to major contruction, this box is either gone or unable to be reached. I will try to confirm on next visit ****
The "Friends in Low Places" is located in a high place on Lake Travis, at the Oasis! Great place to end your day at the lake.
Directions:
From Hwy 620, take the exit heading to hippie hollow and windy point (brown sign), which if coming from Hwy 71 will be soon after the dam and the church on the left with the view of the lake. Once you turn, go about a mile to the Oasis parking. Turn right into parking lot at last pull in (just after main crosswalk to the Oasis which is on your left). Park on left as soon as you can.
To the Letterbox:
From where the gravel entry road enters from the main road, follow the gravel road away from the Oasis to the 1st wood telephone pole on your left, with a white sign on it and a flood light. No go toward the trees for about 10 yards. Find the large flat rock. On the back side of this rock, at the lower edge, the letterbox is tucked in with a small 6 inch rock covering it.
