From Rt. 8 in Cheshire, MA turn into Bedard Bros. Auto Sales and take an immediate right onto the dirt road. You will see signs for the Mass Wildlife Management Area (WMA) at the yellow gate. If the gate is closed there is parking for more than 10 cars on the side of the road. Please do not block the gate or the privet driveway.
From the WMA parking area go under the power lines, stay to the left and go over the wooden bridge. A short distance up the first hill you will see a sign that is significant to this letterbox. From this sign look up the hill to your left and you will see a tree shaped like the letter Y. Eight paces past this tree you will find a three trunk tree. The letterbox is in this tree.
This letterbox is also a geocache. We geocachers call them a letterbox hybrid. There may be trackable geocaching items in the letterbox, please do not take them unless you are a gocacher.
This is the first letterbox we’ve hidden. I decided that it would be better to make this one too easy than too hard.
We’re primarily geocachers. We have found letterbox hybrids before but we found our first letterbox by accident. It was 50 ft. from the geocache we were looking for. We had signed and stamped the logbook before we realized it didn’t say “geocache” anywhere on it.
