Start at the corner of Blossom Hill Rd and and the road that shares a name with the Name of the Phoenix NHL team. Drive north following this canine and stop at the 1st park (named for the neighboring trees) Park in front of the park.
Now take the path on the right hand side of the park. Follow it to the exercise area and do a few pull-ups for bragging rights. Continue along the path till you get to the bridge over the creek. Cross the bridge and turn left. Head North along the bike trail. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife and bicyclists. Team Eye Spy has spied rabbits, squirrels, mallards, coots, geese, lizards, a pack of coyotes (many many years ago) a baby bobcat, a wood pecker, crawdads and a heron.
Continue down the trail keeping a lookout for a white double rail fence with 6 diamonds on it's backside. It's here that you will leave the path. Head towards the building to your right.
Take the side walk to the stairs and enter. Proceed to the information wall then turn left. Or check out a hockey or soccer game if you wish. If you are hungry you can stop for a quick pizza otherwise follow the trail of floating soccer balls to the end. Turn left, go to the wall turn right and proceed through the invisible wall. Exit to the East for a breath of fresh air.
Now take the walk to the south east corner turn right and go up the ramp. Follow the walk till you come to the last set of doors. Turn South and walk approx. 135 steps following the cyclone fence. Look for the stump and you shall find what you are looking for.
*** Monday through Friday the building you will be entering opens at noon and closes at midnight. Sat and Sunday it open at approx 8:00 am and closes at approx 11 to midnight. Hours vary slightly due to league schedules. The building you will be exiting has slightly different hours. They are open 5 am to 11pm Mon - Friday and 7 am - 8 pm Saturday and Sunday Your best bet is to do this one Mid day/early afternoon or early evening.
