The Story of Ferdinand was written in 1936 by American author Munro Leaf and illustrated by Robert Lawson. The book tells the story of a bull who would rather smell flowers than fight in bullfights and is one of the bestselling children's books of all time. The story was adapted by Walt Disney as a short animated film entitled Ferdinand the Bull in 1938 and won the Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoons). I thought an appropriate place for this peaceful bull would be at Bull Creek Park, where you can hike or just sit and read by the creek.
Directions:
From Hwy 183 at Hwy 360, take Hwy 360 south. At the intersection with Lakewood Drive, make a left then make the first left into the parking lot for Bull Creek Park.
Clues:
Cross the creek and head north, going under the two bridges. At the 2 brown trail markers continue straight, crossing pvc pipes before coming to a green trail marker. Continue 23 steps, then turn right and walk off trail 20 steps uphill to a cedar tree in front of many rocks. The camo minibox is at the back side base under leaves and a flat rock resting on other rocks. Just lift the flat rock and replace as described so that the rock does not crush the box.
