Find the the intersection of routes 68 and 157 in Durham. The easiest way is to take exit 15 from I-91 and head east on Rt 68. About 2 miles down the road and about 1/4 mile past the Wallingford/Durham town line you will arrive at Rt 157 where you will find ample parking. The trail enters the woods about 0.1 mile west of Rt 157 on Route 68.

This is one of my pet peeves, as anyone who knows me can well attest to. Our beautiful CT. Blue trails built and maintained by volunteers, are being destroyed. This particular trail has been very badly damaged, which is why I’ve planted here. No more than two miles round trip.

If you parked at the corner of 68 & 157 cross 157 very carefully and walk west on 68 to the blue trail (you could probably park here also). Enter the woods, go over the train tracks and hike up one hill to go down the next etc. After several of these climbs and declimbs watch for what appears to be a five sister tree (two are dead, barkless, topless and might go missing) (these trees are now quite stumpy)on the left just before ascending one of the smaller ups. There’s a rock outcropping on the right. When the trail almost levels out you’ll have a cedar grove on the right. Watch for a group of five Hickory trees (also on the right) with a good sized rock close by. Look between rock and trees for this Invasive Species. (About 70 to 75 steps beyond the five sister)

Rehide well.....PLEASE.
Brown ink not included.
