The Black Dog Tavern in Vineyard Haven-Water Street
The letterbox sits next to the Black Dog Tavern/bakery/general store. A small path lined with trees runs along the fence and the Steamship Authority's property. It leads to a Gazebo that overlooks the ocean. This is a great place to sit and stamp once you retrieve the box. Stop and Shop sits across the street.
To the box:
Count 5 white employee parking sign posts-or look for the 5th Bradford Pear Tree. In the arms-or multi leaders (approx 5 ft. high) you will find a box hidden from view. Please use stealth when stamping-in and replace carefully so that it can not be seen. Very busy spot and the windows from the Black dog are nearby.
The Bakery has awesome clam chowder.....
