The Bennington Monument:
This majestic limestone obelisk towers over the town and is visible from all directions. The 306 foot Bennington Battle Monument is the tallest man made structure in Vermont. It pays tribute to the Green Mountain Boys who fought in the 1777 Battle of Bennington, a decisive victory over the Brittish during the American Revolution. The Statues of John Stark and Seth Warner guard the grounds along with several other monuments and markers.
The letterbox sits in the northwest corner of the lot. It is on the right of the gift shop. It sits to the left of the electrical box. At the base of the hemlock tree under some leaves is the box. These leaves were pretty compacted and deep. There will be a lamp pole and a garbage can on your right side as you approach the area. The electrical box has L91 PM25 written on it. The Bennington Monument is a huge tourist attraction so use stealth when looking for it.
