- With back to the cliff, and to the left of the Memorial Tree, go left (east) on the trail.
- Go past mile marker 2.7 and continue until you come to a drop-down-gulley trail on your left where a tree is marked by 2 Blue Marks.
- Stop and turn 90 degrees to 3 o'clock.
- Look beyond a horizontal fallen log to the largest single trunk tree in the distance.
- Take 9 paces to this tree and you will find the Memorial Box #3 hidden behind rocks in a small hollow in the tree.
- With back to the cliff, and to the left of the Memorial Tree, go left (east) on the trail.
