This box is missing. The owners are thinking about replacing it.
This box is planted, authored and owned by my Aunt and 2 cousins: Red Tail Hawk, Puppy Girl and Dog Boy in memory of Belle, their black lab who died of cancer at the age of 8 and in honor of all the dogs that love to run on the trail and swim at Eagle Pond. The stamp is hand-carved by Dog Boy.
Well-behaved dogs welcome. Please leave only footprints behind.
Directions to Eagle Pond:
From Hyannis, take route 28 to the lights at CVS in Cotuit. Turn Left onto Putnam Ave and follow for approx 1/2 mile. Eagle Pond (Mary Barton Land Trust) parking area is on the Left.
Directions to the box:
From the parking lot, walk down the main trail and take a Left down the gravel steps. A short distance on the Right is an area where the dogs like to swim. Standing facing the pond, look Left and behind the trunk of an Oak tree, look for some bark and leaves and "X" marks the spot.
For a short walk, retrace your steps to return to the parking area.
For a beautiful 1 mile walk, continue along the trail keeping the pond on your right which will loop around back to the parking area.
