MISSING. I am hoping to get it replaced this season. September 2010. ~Aljan
This box is for my husband, a HUGE Michael Myers and Halloween fan. This box is very near to the house that acted as the Myer's house in the movie Halloween, where Michael committed his first murder, that of his sister. At the time that Halloween was filmed, the house was abandoned and empty. Since the filming, the house has been renovated (it is still completely obvious even with it's cheery new blue paint) and moved across the street from its original location and is now a law office. There are several recognizable spots in the immediate area that appeared in the movie. Check out this site for more information...
www.seeing-stars.com/locations/Halloween/index.shtml -the map available for the Myer's house that is shown on this site is of no help. A big star in the middle of the state of CA gets you right there, eh? Here are some better directions...
Make your way to the intersection of Mission and Meridian in South Pasadena. It is a crazy intersection with the streets coming together and being crossed diagonally by the light rail tracks. There is a nice, funky coffee stop called Buster's at the same intersection. If you need an address to Mapquest, here is the address for Buster's: (The Halloween house sits almost directly behind the coffee shop) 1006 Mission Street, South Pasadena, CA 91030-3146. Do you see the blue house behind Buster's and across the light rail tracks? There you are!
For the box, walk south on Meridian, on the right side of the street. Pass the walking man (Do you think HE ever runs? And yet, he always manages to catch his prey) and angle back through the small park to end up behind the dark red Meridian Iron Works building. Behind the building is a 3.5 foot tall or so cement slightly obeliskish shaped incinerator. Open the top door and you will find the box buried deep under the leaves and large round seed pods in the back left hand corner. PLEASE make sure that you re cover the box well and take care to not be seen while you go for the box. Keep the light rail station in mind when considering watchful eyes.
Thank you!
