Where Sumner and Dolphin Dr. intersect there is a path to the ocean marked only by a sign stating all the things that are not allowed on the beach. Letterboxing is not listed on this sign. The trail begins with a few steps down, then proceeds underneath the train tracks, along the side of a ravine. Another set of stairs, first cement, then metal, lead to the beach. When you reach the beach, turn back, and count 10 metal steps back UP the stairs. Look to your right and you will see a decaying tree trunk alongside the stairway. Inside this deyaing tree you will find the letterbox. Please be very discreet, as this is a well-populated trail.
