Difficulty rating: Short leisurely walk
Take 5th Street off of US 395, also Carson Street, heading towards the sunrise. Complete half a circle at the round-a-bout on your way to the Korean War Memorial Park where Marsh and 5th form a “T“. Ditch the car in a small free parking lot and proceed on foot past an Eskimo oven. Locate an interpretive sign near the fenced building.
Count to 36 as you read about the interesting Italian family who once dwelt in the area. Face the direction the 36th word instructs and head left. As you make your way down the path, look for 6 large trees then have a seat, you deserve a small breather.
Scoot up the embankment between the fifth and sixth trees and find the scout in his lovely log home beneath the sixth.
