As of 3/26/07 this letterbox is missing. I will replace it in the near future...stay tuned!
This letterbox is in the Dog Run section of Freedom Park. It is an off-leash area so please keep this in mind.
From the parking lot walk past the playground and follow the signs through the field to the Dog Run. Enter through the chain link gate to the first off-leash area. Walk to the next Dog Run sign across the field. Follow the trail through the woods and over the wooden foot bridge. Bear right at the Y and continue until you reach a clearing.
At the entrance to the clearing take a compass reading. Walk through the field to the trees at 280 degrees. Here you will find a trail leading into the woods. You can double check your location by looking up at the trees to the left of the trail entrance and sighting orange tape tied high in the tree branches. Follow the trail into the woods and spot a stump about 1 ft. high. What you seek is inside.
Note that this letterbox is large enough to house a hitchhiker.
