Frog in a Box

The Frog has hopped on to the great Pond. As of Oct. 1, it was reported missing from its perch. But it was fun while it lasted.

This letterbox is part of the Now You See It, Now You Don’t contest. The goal of this Mid Missouri Letterboxers project is to hide boxes within viewing distance of well-traveled thoroughfares. Camouflage is the name of the game, so searchers will be working out in the public. Please use all the stealth of a big game hunter and try your very best to keep anyone from noticing your stalk.

Old Sam was a Tiger who took his roar across the world. He’s gone, but his tracks are in almost every corner the town of Columbia...

Sam’s gone, but his kin really like to build and stick his name on the wall. Well, part of it, anyway. For this adventure, you have to head to the Lowe land, where you can find both halves of the man with a plan.

Look north in your quest, to the part between some rocks and a hardware spot.

The progeny of Sam weren’t much on trees, but they planted a forest anyway. Dark but light, the sentinels of this forest march in rank order, evenly spaced across the park.

The tree we want may be two close to 63, but it’s a triple jump toward the other side of our protagonist.

And our little tree frog? It’s so busy here that he has to stay in his box near the roots. You can find him, though, if you just look for the placer’s name. You’ll like him. He has a magnetic personality.

Don’t think you can easily get away with snatching the frog box, though. Sam’s folks look right at him day and night with electronic eyes. You’ll have to put on a good act to take the box, then go elsewhere to stamp. Remember which tree you visited, however, and be sure to replace the box so other searchers can read the name.
