We picked the location for this letterbox because it has special memories for us. We have been coming to this spot with family and friends to watch the sunset for years. The scenic overlook actually used to be located across the street but that was closed a few years ago and replaced with this gorgeous overlook with an even more breathtaking view of the sunset! If you are visiting the area, we urge you to come to this spot and watch the sunset over the mountains.
**Bring your own ink pad or markers.** Hand-carved stamp.
LOCATION:
Pemigewasset Scenic Overlook located on the south side of the Kancamagus Highway about 22 miles west from the Conway end of the Kanc. This would make it about 12 miles from the Lincoln end.
CLUES:
Go down to the gazebo and check out the awesome panoramic view. There are a couple of interpretive signs here that have some interesting information on the area’s land formations.
From the gazebo, head back toward the parking area taking the gravel path to the right all the way to the end. With the parking lot on your left turn right to face the trees. Do you see the 1 ½ foot tall sliver of a stump? About 2 feet to the right you will find the box behind a badly decaying stump.
