The “Cry of the Wolf” letterbox is found at the Wolf Pen Creek Park and Amphitheater,located at the intersection of Dartmouth Street and Holleman Drive in College Station.
The Lower Trail system includes a pair of overlook stations and kiosks offering educational information about the area, an amphitheater, which hosts free concerts during the summer, and numerous bike and walking trails.
The Upper Trail forms a loop between George Bush Drive East and Dartmouth and connects to several restaurants along Harvey Road.
To find the letterbox, take the Harvey Road exit from Hwy 6 (Earl Rudder Freeway and go SW on Harvey Road, past Post Oak Mall, about ½ mile. Turn left on Dartmouth and go 1 block. Park at the Upper Trail parking area which is at the NW corner of Holleman and Dartmouth on your right.
Cross over to the lower trail on Holleman and walk East to the entrance. You will see a pool with a bronze wolf family and their babies.
Enter the park. There will be a red emergency pole on your left and walk down to the Information Kiosk.
Find the number of the “man” who is very important to the Aggies. From the kiosk, continue on down the path (do not turn over the bridge) counting that number of light posts.
Just before this light post there is a group of 3 trees to the right of the path. Look behind and to the right of the tree closest to the light pole and you will find the wolf under some sticks and brush.
There is a bench nearby where you can stamp in. Please be discreet as this is a popular spot and rehide well.
Please consider bringing another box to plant in this beautiful place.
