Sorry but it appearst that this box is gone. I'm not close enough to check on it so I will archive this one soon.
This box is in the Sequoia National Forest off the General's Highway. It's practically a drive by, weather permitting.
Directions:
Southbound from Grant Grove, etc. after you pass the gas station, slow down. You're looking for a pretty small pull off on the right just at the start the big rocks on the left. Park there or as close as possible to there.
Northbound from Lodgepole area, after Stoney Creek Campground, there will be a Creek on the left and a big rock face on the right. Slow down. There's a pretty small pull off on the left. Park there or as close as possible to there.
From the pull off, walk east to the two little trees by the side of the road. Stand between them and face 350 degrees. Keep an eye on the first tree you see. Make your way up to it. It's close to the top and on its own rock pedestal. The box is under the big rock on the east side, behind the two small rocks.
I suspect this area may be inaccessible in the winter and possibly crowded in the summer. It was very nice in May. Be discreet always and be careful crossing the road.
