Difficulty: Easy
Distance to box: less than .1 miles
Marion Sansom was a grass roots cattle rancher from the late 1800's who began his cattle operation just North of Fort Worth.
To find this box locate the Fort Worth Nature Center off Jacksborro Highway (199). Enter the Nature Center by turning right onto Buffalo Road. Stay on Buffalo Road passing the buffalo range on your right. Road will curve sharply to your right. Pass Fossil Ridge Road. Turn left on Shoreline heading toward the boardwalk. Turn right into parking area for the Marsh Boardwalk. Park in front of the sign. Take the sidewalk in front of you. Pass the boardwalk sign and when the sidewalk curves to the left, stay straight onto the dirt path. You will see a large rock in front of you. Hiding under the right sided is Marion's Longhorn.
Be sure to check out our box, The Wolverine, which is actually placed in Marion Sansom Park, just up the road in Sansom Park. Also check out the others we have in the nature center...T. C. Cherries and the Movie Star.
