---RETIRED--- AND THE DONKEY DIED
Samuel’s Cabin
On Highway 49 between the bridge over the New Melones Reservoir and Tuttletown turn on Jackass Hill Road and follow it for about a mile to the black fenced enclosed cabin. This area is called Jackass Hill. Stand in front of the seven foot high stone cairn and plaque and take about 40 steps in a 330 degree direction towards a multiple-trunked tree on the edge of the lot right on the fence line. Look for Samuel’s Cabin LB at the base of this tree under rocks.

Please be discreet, this can be a high traffic area. We suggest using your car to shield you from the view of the house to the right. We stumbled upon a micro geocache in this area.

Bring an apple or carrot to feed the jackass in case he’s there. He likes attention and petting especially if you have a snack for him. He’s quite verbal if you don’t have anything for him. We were unprepared so had to give him some trail mix.
