2007: This box has been reported missing by several seekers. I haven't had a chance to check.
Take the Skyway east of Chico to Honey Run Rd. and turn left. Go five miles to the covered bridge. There's a $3 fee to park and the gate closes at sunset. Walk across the beautiful bridge, notice the year on the parking lot end. Subtract the sum of the first and last digits from the sum of the middle two. This is the number of guardrail supports you want to count on the north-ish side of the new bridge to find your prize. Be discreet! Take your camera and act like you're taking a picture of Butte Creek Canyon. Watch out for cars!
**It is possible to get this box without paying, or after the park is closed. But parking elsewhere is mostly prohibited (possible for a very short time), and I like to support the parks by paying the nominal fee.**
I wish I'd done a little more exploring. Centerville is beyond this little park and has more interesting historical sites to offer.
