What a Catch!
level of difficulty:easy drive by
need: red and blue marker
Union Bay has a couple of historical buildings. You can check out the old library, police station and church. There is also a very quiant old store that is a restaurant/gift shop.
All of this is on one side of the highway. Across the other side is the ocean.
To find the letterbox, you are looking for a 'prop'. I guess it could be used in a play, although it would be very difficult to move this one. It is huge and heavy. Never mind the local residents being upset at a historical marker being moved.
here is the spot.
facing the 'prop' at the right of it(your right as you face it and the water), now turn to walk down the embankment which is the south side(be sure to have your wee ones by the hand or watching, wouldn't want them to scramble down these rocks. Also, make sure your car keys are safe in a pocket, if they fall through the cracks here, you won't get home ***grin***
From the edge of the lowest blade look for the closest rock. On the downhill side you will find your catch. It has slitheres under some smaller rocks in a camo lock n lock type container. Bring your catch to the top. There is a picnic table for stamping on, and then return as you found.
Please notify us that you have found this and if it has remained dry.
