**Original box disappeared in 2006. New box planted 9/2/07.**
Located on beautiful Caroga Lake, Sherman’s had been a destination for generations since its opening in 1921. Besides the popular dance and reception hall, Sherman’s offered a large pavillion, ice cream stand, a ferris wheel and carousel. The carousel has been restored and is housed in a 12-sided building with specially commissioned stained glass windows. Sadly the rides and ice cream stand are closed.
Clues:
Sherman’s is located in the heart of Caroga Lake off Route 29A on the shores of West Caroga. Walk past the ice cream stand to a paved walkway leading you past the ferris wheel and to the carousel. Cross the bridge over Mead Creek and walk to your left to a second bridge. Stop at the end of the second bridge and take a reading of 330 degrees. Walk 16 steps to find the letterbox waiting for you there.
