**REPORTED MISSING**
Although not a New Yorker, I visit there often and was astonished to see the dearth of letterboxes in Manhattan, so here is my small attempt to rectify the situation:
Find the place in Manhattan where Alice watches the sailboats that seem to have drunk from the same bottle Alice did. Stand with your back toward Alice’s back (you should find a couple of mushrooms on your right and a cat and an earthworm on your left). As you walk directly away from Alice, you should just barely pass a low iron fence on your left and see an L-shaped low stone wall directly ahead. Sit between the corner of the wall and the end of the wall with your back to the shrubbery; this will give you an opportunity to reach behind you on your right and feel around the back side of the wall under some ivy for your treasure without attracting attention from the constant crowds visiting Alice. The box is rubber-banded in dark green plastic for camouflage; after stamping, be sure to rewrap the box and conceal it in the same way you found it, by sitting with your back to the shrubbery and reaching behind you.
