11/06 I've checked, and this box is indeed missing. I may
replant at some future date.
Since I live so near to several stops on the Pony Express route, I want to plant a bunch of commemorative boxes. This is the second one, if you count the one I planted for the Gold Rush Romp, which was pulled and awaits a new location. I looked all over for a marker in Hangtown, but couldn't find one! So I may relocate this box later, but for now:
At the intersection of the state capital and our nearest ocean is the institution that began long before and has carried on long after the Pony Express played its short and vital role in communication history. Behind this building, and across the ocean, take the way that would go well with Jerrycheese. Pass the park and find the great place to take a swim. About even with the end of this property is the last island planter in a parking lot on the right. Back of the round pillar, under jasmine and river rocks. Please re-hide well.
