While the tern "Illini" was applied to the student newspaper in 1874 and then to refer to students and alumni of the University of Illinois, it was not until 50 years later that it was used to refer to an athletic team. The term "Illiniwek" means "complete human being", and is now an honored and controversial symbol of the University of Illinois.
THE CHIEF HAS BEEN REMOVED BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA!!!!!!!!!!AS OF 8/16/2010
Clues: The box is located in Blackwell Forest Preserve. Park in the archery range parking lot. Head toward Bld. 19 and follow the truck path to the limestone path. Turn right. Continue on the trail until the last "target" is 90 degrees to your right. Notice a young oak standing guard on the very edge of the right side of the path. Take about 70 paces forward on the trail to a slight clearing on the left. Search in the clearing for an undeveloped animal/foot path. Take this path. Spot 2 yellow sentries. Stand between them and walk 7 paces North. The CHIEF rest at the bottom of a bush.
Check out Bucky Badger, also located in this park.
