Needs a new log book! On the smallish side, no more than a 3x4. If you go would be greatly appreciated if you could replace it for me. I live far away and am depending on the kindness of strangers.

This box is planted in Riverbend Park, just upriver from the Great Falls on the Potomac. It’s pretty easy with just a few small hills. It should only take 30-45 minutes round trip but there are several other boxes nearby so make sure you bring clues and plan to spend a great day boxing in a beautiful park.

Follow the signs to Riverbend Park Visitors Center and park in the lower (boat launch) lot.

From the lower lot head downriver on the main trail that leaves from the far end of the lot (the trail will be muddy after rain). You should be heading towards Great Falls. Continue along the trail for about a half mile or so. You will pass a lone picnic bench on your left and a large park sign on your right, but stay straight. Shortly after that you will see the Upland trail heading off to your right. Don’t get lead astray by the Possum Tracks heading up that trail! Walk straight past the sign, continuing in the direction you’ve been heading. Very soon you will see a large flat boulder on your right. It’s big enough to hold a tribal council on! Sit, take a rest, you’ve worked hard. After you’ve caught your breath, turn around and look at the rocks behind you. See the flat rock standing upright at the base of the hill, about 5 feet behind you? Reach way in with a stick…..

Please be discreet! This is a very heavily traveled trail. This box was planted after a January snowfall and there were still plenty of people walking up and down this trail.
