Find Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars

The grandeur of 800-2,000+ year old living cedar trees awaits you at the Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars located 13 miles north of Nordman on Forest Road 302 (an extension of State Highway 57).

These giants range from 4 to 12 feet in diameter and reach heights of 150 feet. Average age estimated at 800 years, with a few reaching back 2000-3000 years. There is a one-mile loop trail around Granite Falls and an easy foot trail along the creek that leads you to a viewpoint of the Lower Falls cascading over a sheer rock wall.

Take the hike to the falls on overlook trail past Granite overlook up the hill some more.

You will come to an area on the left of further viewing (solid in support). While facing the view you will see on your right up a little, a cluster of rocks and a larger boulder of sorts. Search all around the rocks for the Priest Lake Letterbox.
