STATUS:

CONFIRMED MISSING / RETIRED 10-26-2012

"Someone told me it's all happening at the zoo. I do believe it, I do believe it's true. It's a light and tumble journey from the east side to the park; just a fine and fancy ramble to the zoo. You can take the crosstown bus if it's raining or it's cold, and the animals will love it if you do."

Simon and Garfunkel

BACKROUND:

Christmas at the Zoo has been a tradition in my family for many years. Every evening in December, the zoo grounds are lit with a million twinkling lights. If we're lucky enough to have snow, it's truly a winter wonderland! Bundle up and take a train ride through the African Plains or a horse-drawn trolley through the Forests. Warm up in the Waters Building, Deserts Biome and Encounters. A special holiday show awaits you in the Whale & Dolphin Pavilion. End the evening with a cup of hot chocolate around a bonfire. And last but not least, have a picture taken with Santa and his reindeer.

NOTES:

You don't have to pay admission to the zoo to find this letterbox. However, it is only accessible from 8:30am-5:00pm. To add a festive touch, bring several colors to ink the stamp.
