The LETTERBOX is NOT CHECKED ON AFTER WINTER 2011/12

Added on June 23, 2007:

We visited our box. Now as the lake has risen there are some changes in how everything looks and how to get to the letterbox. Check the clues:

3) You can't see "a vast “rock field” on the right between the path and the lake" - it's all under water now.

4) On your way down the path, you will see that a tree came down to block your way. It's very close to the pyramid shaped boulder you need - you can see it ahead on your left. You will have to climb over the fallen tree or get to the boulder around the top.

When the water recedes later (it is a vanishing lake after all), almost everything will go back to normal. Only the fallen tree is there to stay. So we will add it to the CLUES.

CLUES (edited)

This box is hidden in the Canadian Rockies, in Jasper National Park by a certain lake (the name of the letterbox is a clue). Bring your own ink pad and a pen as this box doesn’t supply any.

1. Coming from Jasper, AB, and approaching the lake from North East, stop at the first lookout on your right, the one with a short dry tree at the back of the unpaved parking lot.

2. From that tree starts a pebbled pathway that goes down toward the lake. Stop for a minute to take in the view - it's gorgeous! Now follow the path.

3. There should be a vast “rock field” on the right between the path and the lake.

4. Follow the path almost to the end (it will actually end in the lake probably because it is used for boat launch).

On your way down the path, you will come upon a fallen tree across your way. It's very close now to the large pyramid-shaped boulder with a dry tree leaning on it - you can see it in front of you to the left.

You will have to climb over the fallen tree or get to the boulder around the top.

5. When you stand facing the boulder with the lake behind you, look under the boulder on the right side. In the cavity there is the letterbox you are looking for.
