Start your hunt at the base of Mt. Wachusett ski resort. The Midstate Trail South picks up directly from the parking lot. Follow signs, trail blazes, and/or trail map for the Balance Rock trail. Once at Balance Rock, take 17 paces to the next yellow trail blaze. Look under the lip of the boulder near the tree under leaves and a small log. After enjoying, please return to the same spot well out of sight.
