From Highway 3, follow Rattlesnake road about 1.4-1.5 miles. The pavement ends after 1 mile, so you'll be going about another 1/2 mile. At the first left curve you'll see a wide spot on the right side of the road. Park there.
Across the road you'll see a green telephone line box with the label "LP10".
Standing on the hill above that, look to the east to see 2 10" diameter fir trees about 4' apart.
Go 6 paces and stand between them. Check on the ground under the rock.
I moved up here in 1981 and this was painted then. I don't know who the original artist was, but I think whoever took over the face painting got confused about what nature sculptured the rock to be!
There is a geocache nearby too.
