Head to Philpot campground off USFS road 30N31. You can take the Philpot Self-Guided Tour Trail, a 2.5 mile round trip hike or drive past the campground another 1/2 mile to a big turn out and hit the "shortcut" trail a 1/4 mile hike.
From Philpot Campground: Go to the west end of the campground and find the trail between campsite #3 & #4. Follow the trail West to Philpot Waterfall. You will cross 2 seasonal creeks, which are the hardest part of the trail. Steps have been cut into the banks, but they are steep.
From the Shortcut: Find the trail on the NW side of the road and follow it across the creek. There is old blue carpet at the start of the trail. Turn West onto the trail and follow it up to Philpot Waterfall.
Look for a small rock cairn on the right side of the waterfall (while you are facing it), a little way up the hill.
