The Jepson trail is located outside the main entrance to Tomales Bay State Park on the east side of the road. Park your car and walk up to the trailhead. Walk about 75 steps and stop. You will see a small madrone tree (red bark) to the left . Continue another 28 steps and you will see a dead pine tree with the top branches pointing west. Look forward on the trail and you should see a fallen log that looks like a ducks head. This should be about nine steps . Look out and you will see Tomales Bay my parents favorite place to vacation. To locate the letterbox look under the log and you will find the Jepson Trail letterbox. If you continue on the trail you should run into the Bishop Pine in the Jepson Memorial Grove.
