While traveling the Sky Island Scenic Byway, stop to admire the sprawling vista of modern Tucson.
Across the road is a path that would have been called "The Frog Mountain Trail" by earlier residents of the valley before you. Walk the path to the last trailside saguaro before the end of the line. A bit beyond, about 180 steps uphill, look for the box at the base of a towering stack of lithic lily pads. Search on the right downhill side, beneath the movable rocks.
