On Georgia Ave in between 8th & 9th Streets there is a little park hidden in a residential neighborhood. This park is centered around a monument in memoriam to the men who fought in the Civil War and features a Union soldier. This monument is particularly interesting because it is the only one south of the Mason-Dixon Line honoring a Union soldier. It has even been featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not.
Take a moment to look at the monument, then with your back to the Grand Army of the Republic, perform a column left and march to the white park bench about 50 ft away. Sit at the rightmost edge of the bench and reach down with your right hand. Box is hidden under pine needles and leaves.
Be sure to rehide box carefully as this park is used every Spring for Easter Egg hunts.
Happy Hunting!
