Orchard View Park
4060 Old Germantown Road
Delray Beach, Florida
Park Hours: 8:00 am to Dusk
Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: Easy
Distance: 15 feet
Hints:
Orchard View is a six acre park with six picnic pavilions, barbecue grills, playground area, walking trail, drinking fountain, restrooms and parking for twenty-five automobiles. Nearby is Orchard View Elementary School.
The land for this park was purchased from the Blood Family and was formerly known as Blood's Hammock Groves. The Blood Family still owns and maintains their original citrus fruit and juice facility nearby.
Facility Amenities: Restrooms, Picnic Areas, Jogging Trail, Playground
No special equipment is needed, the area is accessible by bicycle, wheelchair, or stroller. Bring a stamp pad.
Directions:
From I-95 exit West Bound at Linton Blvd in Delray Beach.
Take Linton West for 1.3 miles, turn left (south) onto Old Germantown Road and go straight. On your right is Blood's Grove (stop for a bag of Florida oranges) and on your left is a fire station. The entrance to the park is on the left. If you get to the elementary school you have gone too far.
Try to park at the end of the lot in one of the two spaces on the right. The box is hidden under bricks behind a tree just into the wooded area at those two parking spaces. Standing in the parking lot facing the woods, you will see the school to your left and the restrooms to your right.
A tree had fallen across the path, but it may be deteriorated by now. The bricks are supposed to be ON TOP OF the carpet.
